Match the follower to its mechanism
A cam follower or track roller runs against a cam or guide surface in the relevant mechanism. Replacement selection starts at that assembly, not at the machine brand alone. Check the mounting design
Identify the mounting arrangement on the existing component. For a stud-mounted item, document stud diameter, thread designation, threaded length, shoulder and tool-access features. For a bore-mounted roller, document bore and mounting width. Do not substitute between mounting styles because the roller outside diameter appears similar.
Record roller and track details
Provide roller outside diameter, width, overall assembly length and the working-surface profile from the drawing. Note flanges, seals and lubrication features where present. A crowned and a cylindrical surface should not be treated as the same execution. Keep track condition and alignment findings with the maintenance record so a new follower is not selected to conceal another fault.
Use reference codes carefully
A series code from another manufacturer needs its full suffix and dimensional reference. Do not assume a universal equivalence from a short KR or CF label. Compare the actual drawing and operating requirement with the proposed item. Where the machine part number is missing, provide photographs and measurements and ask for identification before ordering.
