From Surendranagar, Gujarat — where we have manufactured textile spinning machinery spares since 1985 — Vindex Industries supplies precision spares to textile units, dealers and maintenance buyers across Sikkim. Orders for Gangtok and the hill towns are packed in export-grade crating designed for long mountain transit from western India to the Himalayas.

Woolen ring spinning spindle — a natural fit for a Himalayan state with a wool tradition.
Sikkim’s textile craft is small, old and mountain-made. The Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom at Gangtok — founded in 1957 as the Government Institute of Cottage Industries — has preserved these skills for generations. The Lepchas, the state’s original inhabitants, are the most celebrated weavers: their “Thara” fabrics are woven on narrow vertical looms with a backstrap, in white, red, black, yellow and green, and in ancient times the yarn itself was spun from the stinging nettle plant.
Two other traditions share the looms. Bhutia weaving produces the Bakhu dress and the striped Pangden apron worn by married women, using yak and sheep wool suited to high altitude, on frame looms. Nepali weavers make Dhaka cloth — handwoven cotton with colourful geometric and floral patterns — on pit and frame looms. Weaving centres operate at Gangtok, Namchi, Gyalshing and Mangan, and newer ventures blend the old techniques with contemporary apparel, some of it recognised nationally.
Sikkim has no spinning-mill industry in the organised sense; its textile economy is artisanal, and its weavers’ yarn comes from outside. Vindex’s place here is precise: we equip the power-driven units, reconditioning workshops and spares dealers that keep the state’s small machine base running — and our woolen and worsted spindles are a natural fit for a Himalayan state where sheep and angora wool are part of the fibre story.
The complete Vindex range, made at our Surendranagar works, is available to Sikkim buyers with packing built for hill-country dispatch:
Sikkim’s textile life runs through the Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom — Lepcha “Thara” backstrap weaves, Bhutia Bakhu and Pangden, Nepali Dhaka — with little organized ring spinning. The small powered units that do run frames need spindles that fit, and Vindex makes ring frame spindles to suit widely installed machine families. Consignments climb to the hills by road, packed in export-grade crating.
Twisting in Sikkim serves small yarn-processing and craft units, but the economics of a worn TFO spindle are unchanged: lost twist, wasted yarn. Vindex supplies TFO spindles for commonly installed machines, individually wrapped against rust and moisture. Small orders move as readily as large ones.
Sikkim is the one Northeastern state where woolen spindles deserve a special mention — the Himalayan wool tradition, from sheep to angora, still feeds winter-garment making. Where woolen-system frames run, their spindles take the same wear as any ring frame’s. Vindex woolen and worsted spindles are made to fit commonly installed machines on the same basis as the ring-frame range.
Hill logistics make machine stoppages expensive — a failed bolster can wait days for a replacement to arrive. Holding a few bolsters in the store is the practical answer. Vindex spindle bolsters ship with fresh bearings seated, ready to fit, in rust-proof wrapping, and single workshops can order just the pieces they need.
When yarn goes uneven, the roller set is the usual suspect, and a fresh set restores quality in a day. Vindex manufactures the full bottom-roller range — spinning, drawing, simplex, comber, fluted and compact — and dispatches it to Sikkim by road. Each roller is individually wrapped for the mountain journey.
Bearings are the cheapest fix for vibration, end-breaks and uneven drafting. Vindex bottom roller bearings are precision-made to run with their matching rollers, and they are a sensible stock item for any maintenance shelf in the state. They travel in small, easily parcelled lots.
A cracked or tired pressure finger throws drafting pressure off on its delivery and the fault follows the yarn. Vindex pressure fingers are direct-fit maintenance parts for commonly installed drafting systems. They are light, compact, and easy to add to any mixed order.
On older belt-driven frames the jockey pulley keeps belt tension true; seize it and belts snap. Vindex jockey pulleys are supplied as drop-in maintenance replacements for Sikkim’s units and dealers. A photo of the machine’s model plate is enough to confirm fitment.
Every doff wears the brake, and weak brakes mean slower cop changes and more waste. Vindex spindle brakes are made to suit the spindle families they serve — a routine consumable worth keeping on hand. They ship compactly even as part of a mixed small consignment.
On roving frames a worn or bent flyer degrades the roving and, downstream, the yarn. Vindex flyers are made at the Surendranagar works for commonly installed machines. Sikkim buyers — units, cooperatives and dealers — can fold flyers into a single consignment with spindles and rollers.

Fluted bottom roller — preparatory spares crated for the mountain journey to Sikkim.
Four decades of manufacturing. Vindex has made spinning spares in-house since 1985; the tolerances on a spindle or roller are held at our own machines in Surendranagar, not delegated to a supply chain.
Fitment for installed machine families. Our spares suit Rieter, LMW, Zinser, Marzoli, Murata/Muratec and Veejay Lakshmi machines. Send a photo of the model plate on WhatsApp and fitment is confirmed before you order.
Packing that respects the terrain. The road to Gangtok is long and the handling many; each part is individually wrapped against rust and moisture and crated in export-grade packing.

By road transport up the Northeast corridor toward Gangtok. We dispatch from Surendranagar as soon as the consignment is packed and share the carrier’s tracking details so you can follow it into the hills.
Yes. Alongside our ring-frame range we manufacture woolen, worsted and jute ring spinning spindles — relevant for a Himalayan state where sheep and angora wool are part of the fibre tradition.
No. Vindex manufactures spares for power-driven spinning machinery — ring spindles, bolsters, bottom rollers, bearings and related parts. In Sikkim our customers are the power-driven units, repair workshops and spares dealers.
Certainly — from a few pieces for one repair bench to full consignments. Share the machine model and quantities on WhatsApp for a quotation.
